Abay Sadvokasovich Karpykov (Kazakh: Абай Садвокасович Карпыков; born February 6, 1955, Taldy-Kurgan) is a Soviet, Kazakh and Russian film director, screenwriter and producer. He graduated from the Moscow Historical and Archival Institute and the Directing Faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (workshop of Sergei Solovyov). Specialty — director and producer.
